Pine-soot ink carries gums and biocides; for dense indoor sessions switch to water-based print inks (e.g. Speedball water-soluble)—no solvent odour, hands rinse clean, spills wash out. Swap disposable tampoes for washable bamboo-and-cloth ones. Choose pH 7–8 acid-free recycled papers, and keep carbon dust away from children's workshops; spent ink water just settles and disposes per local rules, and plates are waxed with food-grade beeswax instead of solvent gloss. Cost is on par with tradition—the compliant choice for school programmes and museum education.
