Key points for copper-on-timber relief panels: bond 0.8 mm relief copper to E0 plywood with neutral silane adhesive plus brass studs (one per 0.25 m²) as mechanical backup. Copper expands at 17×10⁻⁶/K — about 3× wood — so leave 3 mm perimeter movement gaps on panels over 2 m, covered by trim; an aluminium-foil moisture barrier under the glue line stops back-side staining from timber humidity. A 60 m² hotel lobby installation has survived three heating seasons without delamination, maintained quarterly with soft cloth and wax.
