英式银器学徒体系里，打平是从"成形"转入"精整"的分水岭考核：给定已成形碗坯（壁厚 1.1 mm），要求 3.5 h 内打平并用锉与砂纸处理至可抛光状态，判分点为壁厚均匀（差 ≤0.1 mm）、无漏打区、锤痕重叠 ≥50%；师傅只示范两次，之后全凭学徒自查，通过者方可接触客户订单件。
In the British silver trade, planishing marks the gate from forming to finishing: given a pre-formed bowl (1.1 mm wall), the apprentice must planish and dress it polish-ready within 3.5 h, judged on even wall (≤0.1 mm variation), no missed zones and ≥50% mark overlap. The master demonstrates only twice; self-checking is the test. Pass, and client work may follow.
