European vessel drawing goes back to 18th-century Sheffield and Villedieu-les-Poêles workshops: single-action presses with cast-iron dies drew shallow basins in one pass (draw ratio ≤1.6), then hot-tinned inside (molten tin at 232 °C with palm-oil flux) against verdigris. This draw-then-tin route survives unchanged in today's copper basins and baths. Acceptance was 24 h water-tight and no copper swap under a 10% copper sulfate spot test. ---
