SLM-printed 1.2709/M300 maraging-steel coining dies can carry deep relief impossible to cut conventionally. Age at 490 °C for 6 h to 50–54 HRC and polish the cavity to Ra0.2. Life on brass medals is about 10,000–30,000 strikes (60–70% of hardened Cr12MoV), but revision lead time drops from weeks to 2–3 days — ideal for small-batch, many-variant medals. ---
