阴性模具是纹理的"反像"——原物凸起处对应模腔凹陷，用以浇入金属后还原出与原物一致的浮雕。与之相对，直接在原物上压印得到的是阳性（凸）复制。拓纹工艺几乎都依赖阴性模具作为中间载体。
A negative mould is the inverse of the texture—where the original protrudes, the cavity recesses—so poured metal reproduces the original relief. Direct pressing gives a positive copy. Texture replication almost always uses a negative mould as the carrier. ---
