待金胶至可粘态，用竹镊夹起金箔（夹在薄棉纸间），轻覆于器物，以软毛刷（或"金扫"）由中心向外扫平、排掉空气，再覆棉纸用玛瑙刀轻压使贴合。接缝处金箔需重叠 1–2 mm 避免露底。完成后静置 24 小时再砑光、清扫浮金。
When size is tacky, lift leaf (sandwiched in tissue) with bamboo tweezers, lay over the work, and sweep from center outward with a soft brush ("gilder's tip") to expel air; cover with tissue and press gently with an agate knife. Overlap seams 1–2 mm to avoid bare spots. Rest 24 h before burnishing and brushing off excess. ---
