Springback is the slight elastic recovery of angle after opening; opening ratio is the folded length divided by opened length, reflecting the material's "shrink memory" for that fold. Copper springs back little, brass a bit more. Understanding both predicts final form: the more thorough the hammering (higher plastic share), the less springback and the steadier the shape—ideal for symmetric parts. ---
