Fold forming is a "fold–hammer–open" cold-shaping method. Its core principle: constrained at the fold axis, metal under hammering can only flow in limited directions; once opened, that constrained deformation is locked into a raised relief. It needs little more than hammer, stake and vise, making it one of the least tool-dependent forming methods in metalwork. ---
