Ammonia fuming is the classic vivid-verdigris route. **Chamber**: a sealed plastic tote or acrylic dome with an open cup of household ammonia (3–10%), a water bowl for humidity, and the copper raised off the liquid; cover and wait. Small parts: a sealed clear bag. **Base**: prep and degrease, apply 5–10% copper sulfate, air-dry to an even pale-blue base, then fume 12–48 h. Copper sulfate supplies Cu²⁺, ammonia supplies alkalinity/coordination, yielding vivid basic copper carbonate. Check daily (ventilate) and remove at target. ---
