Combining Wire Inlay with Transparent Enamel

Finish slightly raised 0.3 mm silver inlay on copper first, then fill the field with transparent or opalescent enamel fired at 820–850℃ so wire stands 0.05–0.1 mm proud—haloed lines over glass depth. The trap: silver yellows above 800℃ in contact with glaze, so use sulfur-free enamels and hold firing to three cycles; gold wire avoids the issue entirely. Pre-dry the whole piece at 150℃ to vent gas so bubbles cannot lift the wire. Seen in Japanese shippō accents and contemporary European jewelry, with per-piece firing records.
