Annual care for outdoor fold-formed sculpture: before the rains, rinse dust out of the creases (trapped dust holds moisture and drives crevice corrosion) and check the sealant for cracks. Re-coat with 1% BTA in ethanol every 18 months until the patina stabilises, then rainwater alone suffices. Watch the fold roots and drainage dead spots—they see the most standing water; white frost-like bloom inside a seam means opening, cleaning and resealing before freeze-thaw creeps the fold open. Photograph every inspection to build a year-on-year baseline.
