Enamel Panels Combined with Solid Wood

Tabletops and cabinet doors set 1–1.5 mm enamel-copper panels into solid-wood frames: folded edges or brass trims, "floating" groove mounting with 1 mm clearance all round. The core issue is moisture-expansion mismatch—hardwood held at 8±2% MC; spans over 600 mm get a concealed mid-brace to keep bending from cracking the glaze. Adhesive fixing suits only areas under 300 cm² with low-modulus silane sealant. Assemblies pass five -10℃/40℃ cycles crack-free before shipment—now a Nordic furniture production idiom.
